I'm quitting it again. Between being jet-lagged last week after vacation out in Hawaii, not getting enough sleep, and relying too much on coffee to keep me sane, I decided it was best to break free from it again. Especially with a baby on the way - the last thing I want to do is enter that world of sleeplessness while trying to medicate myself with caffeine.
I just need to get more sleep and eat a better diet that will keep me running all day long. And it sucks because just a few weeks ago I totally fell in love with this barrel-aged iced coffee a place down the street from me makes.
I've given it up for 2 years before, and recently 8 months in 2013, and I'm just a happier person all the way around. Less anxiety, less likely to snap at stuff that bugs me. Still drink decaf, and found some stuff called Teecino that's sort of a tea that's like coffee, and no caffeine. It's not too bad.
- but when you DO go back, that first cup must be heaven. ; )dopepope
- Yeah, when I went back last year, it was in moderation and it was greatness. :)mg33
- It's the ritual of coffee (buying, ordering, making, drinking) that is addictive as the stuff itself.mg33
- Tackling a new born baby without coffee..? Your bravery is impressive.Al_dizzle
