Here's an idea....what if you could have a LCD that turns back to glass/sapphire when not in use? Possible, right? Google glass projects, so why not on a watch face?
If you took a nice Swiss watch and added an on-demand screen to the sapphire, but it was a "real" watch otherwise, then you'd have something. More so, you could make it upgradeable, so if you paid for a nice watch, you could upgrade the tech every few years.
This would also save a ton on battery.Now that I'd start to consider. All these other things I've seen I'd kill for in jr high, but be embarrassed to have otherwise (kinda like putting a cell phone on your belt - makes sense, even functional, but damn it looks awful!)
