I remember, back in the 70s she was extremely popular in the region. People were flocking to see her and hear what she had to say. She was serious medium, so to speak. I remember seeing it on the news, scores of people waiting to get a personal audience with her, because she supposedly had healing powers and such. What I do remember is that she did refuse to be paid or receive presents, but, she did have some serious connections with politicians at the time. I guess everybody around her did get their share.
