police officers are often young people, 23-24 y-o. Lots of girls in the police in Montreal. (not that girls can't make a good job, but in the last events of police shooting, a couple of those had female officer shooting like 8 bullets and missing the target 7 time shooting in the air and in the near buildings. I mean.
They're kids with gunz and often, they're not from Montreal, they dont know a lot about the big city and i really think they are afraid and full of prejudice towards homeless people and other nationality.
