    The Gospels were written in Greek. They were Greek names or local greecised names. Palestine , as well as Egypt, were colonised by Alexander the Great in the 4th Century BCE. In the first century, Greek remained the linga franca in the whole region. Egyptian Jews spoke Greek at the time: they even used a greek version of the Torah and other later sriptures: the Septuagint = "the Alexandrine Bible". Greek was the language of Christianity in the first centuries, before it changed to Latin in Western Europe .
