Thought this was pretty good series. It's not attacking religion, but looking at how you can have morality and ethics in a non-religious world.

    • morals and ethics are not unique to religious groups, and thinking they are is extremely naivemonospaced
    • yet you follow the 10 commandments mono? lolyurimon
    • So you needed to be told the idea that you don't murder and rape? lolukit2
    • for some people yeah. i guess conditioning works. looks what its done for this societyyurimon
    • Nobody follows the 10 commandments.monospaced
    • And I don't need to. Some are obvious and the rest are stupid superstition.monospaced
    • you havent murdered anyone mono. I guess you may lie and steel perhaps?yurimon
    • If you havent ever been exposed to religion, id believe you but since you have your morals are from thereyurimon
    • that's the most retarded thing I've ever heard, and yes, people lie all the time and they can decide how morally bad it wasmonospaced
    • but you got exposed to religion first. your rebellion after doesnt absolve you of your foundationyurimon
    • its a part of your life even if you rebel against those ideas. you still keep a more fiber rooted in your pastyurimon
    • if you never have been exposed to religion and had developed a separate moral foundation. then you can say you are independentyurimon
    • I wasn't exposed to any religious morals first you assumptive jackass.monospaced
    • I developed my ethics from life not from a cult of skinny man worshipping. As if religion had good morals anywaymonospaced
    • you independently developed free of any cultural influence or concepts bestowed upon you? wowyurimon
    • You look at things with no intellectual interest and just name calling labels?yurimon
    • yuri if you watch the video (about 20 min in) it makes the point that morality isn't unique to humans. Any animal that lives in a social group has rules on how they treat each other.ukit2
    • lives in a social group has rules on how they treat each other.ukit2
    • It's basically an evolutionary trait to manage survival of the species. Not something unique to humans or religion.ukit2
    • that is true. but we live in conditioned environment, my question would be if you where conditioned to, how would it be independent.yurimon
    • independent. thats the point.yurimon
