I am not sure about Windows 8 yet either, but from what I've played with I like. iOS was fine, but there's not hierarchy or logic to it...I lose the damn apps all the time.

Time will tell, the tablet market is changing quickly (as even Apple's sales are faltering). I think people, like myself, expected more from their tablets but are realizing they really can't do much. Cool and fun, but ain't gonna make you money.
That said, if I had a $300 tablet I'd feel differently, but mine cost $800 and I still can't add memory (thankfully, the Surface does have memory slots).

That's where I think things will diverge. You'll have cheap tablets that are what we have now - fancy screens to play with and we'll have powerhouses that can function just like a laptop when needed, but slim enough that you don't need to own another tablet.

Running Photoshop, 3DSMax, Premiere, After Effects and Office all on one device I can carry sounds pretty nice. Also, the new writing feature looks great (I hope, if I can edit pics with a stylus that would be amazing).
