Here's my friends & family plan:
I will consider doing the job for free, but I get to determine the scope, and they get what they get. I'll do my best for them, but I'm going to give them what I think they should have. There are no revisions, no suggestions, no "I've already got the logo designed, I just need you to draw it."
After that, they fall back onto my hourly rate that is about 75% of my regular rate, and I treat them (more or less) like a regular client.
A friend of a friend isn't a friend. If I didn't get invited to your birthday party, you pay regular rates.
