The thing I don't understand is that with all that weird stuff that does fall under the banner of legitimate science, why people would focus on theories that have never been tested and have nothing supporting them. Maybe it's a product of the internet age where the craziest theories automatically rise to the top.

As far as material vs non material goes, why the need for a second category? Even if psychic powers were real, even if there are extra dimension or it turns out we are all living in a giant hologram or a computer simulation or something, it would still be material reality wouldn't it? Dark matter, black holes etc is still material. No one can really define what "non-material" is.

    • is there a certificate or stamp of approval of legitimate science?yurimon
    • the guy who invented the law of thermodynamics was dismissed by legitimate science it was 10 years before it took hold as legitimate.yurimon
    • It might be material but its called non material because we cant pinpoint essence of consciousness. even by mystic viewsyurimon
