Regardless of what happened (I don't see some conspiracy, but it all seems odd that there would be no communication, if there was a fire you would think the first thing they would do is notify land that something was wrong, even if nothing could be done...from what I've read, the chances of a fire putting out two systems is near impossible).
I would think there would be some efforts to make planes visible at all times. An airliner of this size should never "disappear".
