It looks more and more like there was an emergency in the cockpit that sprung up right after they said alright goodnight, and pilots have said that when something like that happens, there is nothing anyone on the ground can do for you, so you focus all efforts on the problem. They make a left trying to head to that airport over there, manually entered into the navigation system.
If there was an electrical fire it could have shorted out the communications systems, transponder etc... then loss of cabin pressure, hypoxia, autopilot flies the plane south til it runs out of fuel.
If you look at CNNs facebook, the comments are disgusting. The fact that this looks like it was just an accident, people are actually disappointed because thats not really an exciting ending to this story. These bored assholes want this to be some crazy scheme or something. Not everything is a conspiracy.
The fact that its been 2 weeks and no wreckage yet isnt surprising. They spent a while looking in the wrong place. Didnt have solid data to go on, and it ended up in one of the most remote parts of the world. It takes 4 hours just to fly to the general area, and then they still have 1000s of square miles to search. And im sure much of it would have sunk by now. There is probably a logical explanation to why this plane is where it is and why it went down.
