The generalisation is correct. Dalston/Shoreditch is full of rich kids dressing like poor art students because its cool. They intern for nothing months and then eventually get the best jobs.
I was offered an internship at really good fashion magazine but i had to turn it down (twice) because I couldn't afford not to work. I had to take the shit corporate job and miss out on the magazine.
