  Cockpit fire. Pilots diverted for emergency landing. Then fairly quickly either pilots die in fire or escape cockpit and are able to put fire out, but not before the fire disables any communication or control of plane. All passengers are alive and await their pending death 7 hours later... horrible way to go.
