i watched the show up to the first half of this season without ever reading the comics, and i gotta say i enjoyed it immensely. I started reading the comics cuz i couldnt wait for the show to start back up again, and i was blown away at how closely it followed, yet paradoxically how different it seemed. Its like the comic lays out a blueprint, but then the show runs that blueprint through a guy who just smoked 2 joints and they make it deeper / richer / more detailed / go off on different tangents, etc.

The only issue i have now that I'm caught up to where the show is in the comics is that i feel like I can expect what is generally going to happen once they get to the new community.. I may be wrong on the specifics, but yea, there is an element of surprise lost.

    • it's apples and oranges. can't compare the print with the motion picture. it's two different stories, that are similar.
