^ Your smartphone probably has the same quality of video as GoPro.

If I were buying now, I'd get underwater housing and maybe a wide-angle clip-on lens for my iPhone rather than a GoPro.

iPhone has a LCD viewfinder/display, focusing lens (GoPro has fixed focus like a disposable toy camera), the same or better image quality, better battery life, playback and editing tools...

I happen to have a GoPro though, so here's a question: what's the best way to attach it to a surfboard that isn't mine (beginner surf classes)?

    • clean the area and use a sticky mount, and also use a float just incasemoldero
    • in surf class they wont put you in anything that will be big enough to break that sticky mount sealmoldero
    • did that for my 5 year old daughters surf classes which i have still yet to editmoldero
    • with me & the mount https://scontent-b-l…moldero
    • just her paddling with mount

    • in class, hand held by me

      moldero
    • you have to clean that part of the board with alcohol btw, get that wax residue offmoldero
    • I might have a different board each day... will see. Thanks for the tips, lovely shots there!raf
    • thanks raf, good luckmoldero
    • I ended up with a headband mount, good perspective for my "paddle, try to stand up, fall" routine :)raf
    • yup, keep at it, its just muscle memory, go out in the mornings around 7 or 8moldero
    • less wind = less variablesmoldero
