Age and roommate?

Thanks for the responses and keep em coming. When I was eventually making enough in Chicago to get my own place I couldn't wait to split off from having a roommate. That was when I was maybe 28 or 29, can't exactly remember. I had two apartments from 2001 - 2007, first with a friend i moved from Texas with, second with a Chicago friend and we were in a band together.
I think my first studio apartment in a nice part of Chicago was $750 a month; I remember being so excited that I could afford that and utilities all myself each month.
I think that settling down with a solid girlfriend has a lot to do with eventually not living with a guy friend. I wanted my own place for a few years before I figured we'd get engaged and/or live together. We bought our condo in 2010 and got married in 2012.
