concerning parisiens (people from paris) .. yes it's true . they are not the friedndliest people u can meet.. they have little time to give and they are bored with tourists asking over and over the same questions in english ..
but that's the same in every big city i've been... people in NY or London are not very different, it's up to you to make the difference and cheer them up and show a bit of respect for their countries and lifestyle..
as much i've sen young travellers being nice and friendly around montmartre i've also seen dickheads speaking in english at a bar.. insulting everyone around and thinking noone was speaking english..
i mean after that .. no wonder people are cold and arrogant ..

now it's also true that if you come down in the south you'll feel the difference straight away !
it's laid back, people aren't running everywhere.. it's easier to meet people and chat.. in a bar u won't risk your life saying you're american.. ;)
u've to realize one thing though : on the war in iraq the least we can say is we' do not agree AT ALL with Bush decisions.. and France is totally against this guy.. he is really unpopular here..
so i think that 's not very good for american / french relation..
    sad but true..
i've never seen that many fight in the irish pub down my road than since the war in iraq etc etc.. as soon as 2 guys are arguing about the french decisions on this war there is a fight..sad really
