I hate to be the negative one (and I know you didn't ask for opinions about the city) but I think Paris is truly over-rated. It's extremely dirty, loud and people in general were really unfriendly and whereas other countries enjoy tourism - you almost have to excuse yourself for not being able to pronounce perfect French in Paris.
Oh yeah, and they have 8 lane traffic circulations where everyone's keeping a straight course, and believe me - they don't hesitate to bump you.
The west coast and the Riviera are much better and really beautiful IMO.
