Why do you absolutely need DW when like you say it's sluggish motherfucker, bloated with the most unuseful stuff in it, that makes you a worse coder by relying on shit implementations is beyond me.
I actually only consider to have learned to code once I ditched DW to a simple text editor. Regarding web coding IDEs, Macaw ( http://macaw.co ) will be the shit when it's out (I hope), in the meanwhile stick to Espresso / Coda / Sublime / Textmate / BBEdit / Whatever Text Editor Rock your Boat.
But yeah, sorry for the DW rant, that POS is nasty and it needs to be said every time the opportunity arises..
