  I see the similarity. External hard-drives also tend to have that same body styling. And what's ironic, is that the iPod minis are not hard-drive based, but flash. I'm not too keen on the new designs, tho.

  And the external hard-drive's design makes sense because why would you want it to look like a component that should be mounted in the cpu case.
