It is marketing crap and will make it a massive headache for content creators. I can hear it now "hey, can you make our animation that 4k thing? I want to show it really big"

"Why?, that's the new normal"Thankfully it'll be many, many years before this becomes ubiquitous, if it ever does (I don't see anyone using Blu-ray anymore, I don't even bother on my player).
Most will just stream and watch on whatever is in front of them, monitor, ipad, etc.It does look pretty sweet, but Sony's highend TV's always look sweet.
