    r u on a mac?
    i have a comcast cable modem and a router at home, but i had to configure the router first before anything worked. Problem is, they don't provide that information in the manuals that they send to you (macs are too insignificant, i guess).
    Look up the mac address of the router (it's printed on the bottom or back of it...four numbers like 168.40.21.20, something like that), type that address in your web browser with the router connected, and you can adjust the settings yourself.
