I am a little mixed on them for the past several years. I see them veering into Broken Social Scene territory - a band I liked for a bit then just could't stand all their quirky trying too hard bullshit. I think Arcade Fire are far better than them. Songs on the new album seem good, but when I see a band like them with all the costumes and face paint and theatrics on stage (SNL) I really wonder if they're going the Coldplay route away from great songs to more distracting things that make the music seem secondary.
That said, Suburbs was definitely good and while nothing will measure up to Funeral, which is a completely amazing album from start to finish, I think they make good music when you disregard Neon Bible.
