I learned that there's a very serious tone to the film. I learned that the damage depicted isn't going to be washed clean of its horror, that there will be human casualties. I learned the design of Godzilla looks a million times better than that 1998 travesty. I learned that he's being animated like a giant slow moving mountain that inspires awe. I learned his mass and scale are epic. I learned his spines don't wiggle back and forth because it's not a rubber suit. I learned how his roar sounds amidst these visuals. I learned that there will be other monsters than just Godzilla. And I learned that I'm once excited again to see Godzilla on the big screen.
