I dont know if you tried it already, but ive had to do this a couple times now and it really works. When i was on tour someone knocked a bottle of liquor on a laptop. We bought a huge bag of rice and set it in there for the remainder of the tour (maybe 1 week) and mostly forgot about it. The rice was more of a temporary electronics burial while we traveled. But when we got back home, it turned on and worked like nothing happened. I always figured liquor would be even worse than some clean water as it could leave more of a residue behind. Nothing beats the rice fix (unless you tried to turn it on before it was completely dried out, in which case it's a goner).
