I use components to build all of my generative stuff - I'm working on a new "creative commons" based environment that shows how I build some of these - I have 13 written so far - mostly used for compositions on once-upon-a-forest.com
my new 2004 series of lectures is titled "dynamic abstraction" which is based off an essay I wrote, which will be published in John Maeda's new book... "creative code" -- this lecture will document a bunch of processes of working in this concept - which late spring will be available for download off of my site just like the "flow" lectures.
