Bjladams... You are correct, this is the biggest concern of mass producing this. Trust me, I have had an hour long conversation with Adidas packaging guys, the two piece design and the amount of material is the hardest part to overcome... I am working on a dieline/template for a one piece and two piece... Technically you can make the box a tad smaller and angle the sliding tray in the back to use less material. Adidas wanted this design purely for the D ROSE 4 launch kits and higher end "swag kits" they call them... The average shoe box at Adidas literally cost 25 cents... It would take a premium brand to mass produce this. Good point though.
