Man, 8k TVs are you kidding me?
I can tell you that in my opinion this is something I don't look forward to. Mainly as a content producer. It really sucks having to wait for renders, I really dislike working on 1080i projects right now, and usually try to convince my clients to go 720, mainly because with longer renders, a lot of times you have to sacrifice creativity for production time's sake.

If computers were 10 times as fast, then I have no problem, but as of right now, it's a pain in the ass. I worked on a project shot on RED camera, and sure... looks really nice, but the insane amount of space / resources used for a project like that, just to end up being compressed and stream over the web is incredibly disappointing.

And the worst thing is, clients are already requesting it just because it's available. The project will end up on an animated gif on a forum, but they all want it shot on 8k. Its insane.

    my 2cents
