I think you're going to need a PC..
"The information above work for PCs, but unfortunately, not for Macs. Currently, you cannot import objects as editable vector graphics. You can only import them as a picture or as a PDF (this is true for the latest version of PowerPoint also).
If you bring them in an ungroup them on a PC then open that file on a Mac in PPT2008 there is some editing that can occur, but for now, the importing of objects as editable vector graphics on a Mac in PowerPoint 2008 is not available."
