I am SO HAPPY I bought that Langster!!!! I've gotten in three good rides this week - 15 miles, 18 miles, and 20 miles today, all along the lakefront bike path here in Chicago. Just put on SPD pedals yesterday, the owns with clips on one side, and regular platform in the other. Got used to them on fixed really quickly.

When I was in jr high through 9th grade, cycling was all I did. All I dreamed about was being in the Tour de France. Cycling may be the one thing I was ever best at and dedicated myself to the most for those 3-4 years. Life changed when I got my first guitar for Christmas in 1992, started playing in a band and skateboarding constantly. I've had mountain bikes since then but this is truly my first time back on a road bike. I don't have any delusions of reliving my former glory days, but damn it feels good to ride fast and get good exercise. Bike is so lightweight and with the clipless pedals it just screams. It's true: blasting by people on bikes with gears and no momentum is a total rush. :)

    • That's awesome. I loved cycling when I was a kid, it feels good to have picked it up again. Ride on!crillix
    • take your hands off the bars for a bit, still remember the first time I did that as an adult, so good!slappy
