Just got this a couple hours ago. Debated road bike vs. fixed. Never ridden a fixed gear before but the test ride was fun. I've only had my Rockhopper for the last several years, and I've had narrow city hybrid tires on it. Ready to get it back in full mtb mode so knew I'd need something for around town, and to do in place of jogging some days.
Decided against a full on road bike because I'd never make the time to commit to long mile rides. This way I've got something fun I can cruise around on, and still get a workout when I want one.
Can't believe how light this is. Like 18 lbs. I'm getting new pedals; the shop just didn't have what I wanted.
- Cool bike! Maybe flip that stem and get the bull horns more parallel to the ground, might feel weird at first but more comfortable on long rides :)slappy
- comfortable on long rides/climbing hills :)slappy
- Don't have any hills in Chicago! The original drop bars were terrible. Felt very sketchy going from drops to brakes.mg33
- Have you seen the Pro version? http://www.cyclechat… $1,600. That frame is rad.mg33
