  I've contemplated subscribing, but until I actually need updated programs I don't already have, I can't see the need for it. I use LR 4 and PS 6 90% of the time with the occasional need for Illustrator. Aside from LR and PS, I still have Illustrator, InDesign, and Flash CS3, the last of which I have zero need for.

  I'm going to upgrade to LR5 whenever I get around to it, and I'm glad you can still get the standalone version.
