Always cracks me up to see people talking about god. I know religion is something that gives people something to lean on and its very healthy for a lot of people (and very unhealthy for others), and in their minds they know what god is, but its just funny to me how every civilization has their own idea of what god is.

1000's of years ago people thought the sun was the god. Well now we know it isnt, but for them it actually was a god and that was good enough for them. They didnt really need to know that it was just 1 of billions of stars. They didnt even know it was like the other stars out there. They would have been supremely disappointed to know that. Its not different at all in modern times. God is just an idea fabricated by human minds, which is fine. It doesnt need to be something real to have a purpose that's good for you.

I always feel like with things like this, truth and reality are actually a disappointment. Do we really want to know what our god actually is? Its like the man behind the curtain, or the wizard of oz.
