As another guy who has taken two exotic "sabbaticals" to collect his thoughts on what to do instead of a current soul sucking career, I respect his maneuver. The leaving for a foreign land part is easy, it's the next step that is the hard hard. You can only stay in a workless tropical paradise forever if you are brave enough to abandon the life you had before. I don't view this as wankery.
Alex Bogusky's story is a little different though. Thank guy is a wanker from start to finish. :)
