As I just posted in the Windows forum, I am an advocate for good design - it matters. iOS is horribly ugly, generally speaking. Apple's hardward is superb. Windows Phone looks fantastic, but the designs are still behind.
If Ivy can do what he did with hardware, as they hope he will, then Apple will shoot to the top.
Ironically, all MS and Apple need to do is copy each other. Apple seems ok to copy other people (uh, "windows"), but the hardware world seems reluctant to build one good thing and instead make a billion mediocre things.
It'll be interesting to see where it lands.
