The Big Ten rebrand that Michael Beirut did is fairly interesting, I think. (It's not exactly university, but it's in the ballpark.)

Here in Ann Arbor, UofM is putting the big block M on absolutely everything in the world you can possibly imagine. But, that isn't really a re-brand, since they've had this for years:

They used to use this seal, which I think had a bit more dignity.

Plus they've made the athletic uniforms a heinous neon yellow, when they used to be kind of maise:

Now when you watch games on TV, it seems like your set is fucked up.

I think, basically, that Universities stay away from the re-brands, because all their alums (potential donors) are so tied to the old identity.

    • Many Universities have a seal, in addition to a logo. The seal is for official documents and diplomas.DRIFTMONKEY
    • Here's a surprise, there's another rebrand coming. A lot of us in the university that have seen it hate it.Jacque
    • Imagine the whole university in a cookie cutter brand system. No personality, SHITTY typography. Dead serious.Jacque
