When iPhone came about, Flash was already on its way out.

Jobs didn't "kill" Flash, he just noticed it wasn't moving and flies were gathering over it.

    • I thought Flash was still widely popular at the time. what makes you think that?Hombre_Lobo
    • It was - at its height if anything.mikotondria3
    • There were "is Flash still ok" threads before iPhone, many people said video player use kept it alive.raf
    • I already had seen a decline in Flash work. Also, AS3 was a nod towards programmers and another FY to designers.raf
    • Many good Flash designers never made the jump to AS3, stayed in AS2 while learning JS/jQuery.raf
    • Adobe wanted to make Flash a programming platform like Java, hence attempts to make AS a 'serious' language...raf
    • ...and courting 'serious programmers' while forgetting about the design crowd who had made Flash great first.raf
