I'm interested in the tech to turn the phone into a camera for this purpose. Is there a trigger for when an animal walks by? Is it controlled with software added to the phone or connected to it? Do the researchers have to download the photos or are they sent wirelessly?
Really cool idea and nice site.
- I've written a small motion detector app for Android. It uses the camera, and checks frames coming in through the camera, and compares the frames at a pixel levl if there's enough change it snaps a picture. at a prescribed time it uploads to the Amazon S3
