There was a documentray the other day about the USSR's first hydrogen bomb. They showed really long footage that covered the spectacle, and its related effects on clouds etc. Then they showed another angle, from about 70 clicks away, where there was a city with people in it, milling around. There's a group in the foreground, just staring at this fucking thing, when *WHAM* the shockwave hits, and the poor bastards are knocked off their feet (I assume they weren't harmed.. immediately). The really striking thing was the distance to the mushroom cloud in the background. It was fucking miles away. God forbid these things are ever used..
