Not my normal work. Recently I've been writing short plays for a local theatre group for fun. Mostly comedic scenes. I decided to try and write something a little more serious. So I wrote and performed this monologue for my great grandfather. He was an Accrington Pal and one of the few survivors of the battalion. Most of them were wiped out on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. This was meant to reflect the breaking news to the community back home, who were unaware of just how many menfolk from Accrington died, until the rumours started to spread.

Vimeo and all that, so no embedding on this prehistoric site as usual.
