So I was anticipating to brew a new batch this weekend. Got this nice yeast starter kit with 2l erlenmeyer flask, DME and some yeast fertilizer. Pitched the yeast in 1800ml H20 combined with 2c of DME and pinch of the yeast food. Holy shit. I had yeast all over the place. Somehow the thing took off while i was asleep. All kinds of yeast stuff was oozing out from underneath my foil cap. luckily i put a rubberband over it otherwise... so i just let it bubble away... 35 hrs later the bubbling has become less, there is a visible layer of yeast on the bottom (probably 2x more than before) and a mess everywhere. Put the sucker in the fridge, will take it out and try to double it again come thursday so ideally i'll be pitching double the amount, healthy activated yeast come the brew day. what a mess... Wasn't counting with this.
