I've been a flickr user since forever, and I have a pro account that goes back probably 6 years now. I have tried the updated app and it's still not the same as instagram, I see it like google+, the design looks better, functionality wise they are very similar (flickr now has a set of instagram-like filters on their photos) but while they have a lot of users already, I don't think people were as active on flickr as they were 4 years ago, (myself included).
Truth is, a feed on instagram gets updated way more often than a feed from flickr, and the userbase on instagram keeps getting bigger and bigger by the minute.
- Don't get me wrong, the flickr app is very nice, it's just not very activeMiguex
