  My 3 year old EVO was feeling sluggish so I did a factory reset and allowed it to download the latest update (which I had always ignored) then re-installed these:

  Kindle
  Fooducate
  Redbox
  Evernote
  WhatsApp
  Netflix
  Instagram
  Soundcloud
  AIX weather
  Speedview

  I used to use:
  Fake Call
  SMS Scheduler

  Everything's peppy again. I'm sure the thousands of texts and miscellaneous files therein were wasting space that would have been too meticulous to delete individually.
