These days it's been a lot of motion graphic stuff - I've been getting into AFX - I have nothing to show for it at this point, but the process is absolutely inspiring and humbling due to the breadth of that program.
Japan - when I go, it's always like an adrenalin shot of creative. I always come back with a brain full of freshness.
Had a crazy Kurosawa weekend marathon a couple months ago - wife and I watched about 6 or so films plus a Chris Marker documentary about him. The production quality, sound design and visual framing is astounding.
Also 1980's sci-fi films - I grew up during that period and it still really resonates with me.
Great authors, creators, the simplicity of a blank piece of paper...
I could go on, but there's so much!
