    Vaccines are pretty tried-and-true as far as medicines go. They've been around since 1796. And they can prevent some really horrible diseases.

    Did you know that tetanus, for instance, can cause such extreme muscle contractions that bones are broken from the strain? And that it's invariably fatal? And it's been recognized for thousands of years as the absolute most painful way to die?

    Vaccines get rid of all sorts of diseases like this. Really, modern medicine has only ever found two treatments that really prolong life: vaccines, and antibiotics.

    Not getting vaccines is just asking for trouble.
