    ^^ Here's the thing... I can imagine a person lying about having met a person physically that they only knew digitally. Why? Because let's say he really was being fooled. He really thought she was real. If you're that guy, probably a popular guy, top football player at Notre Dame, do you risk being made fun of by your friends and team mates because you're in a digital-only relationship with someone you've never physically met? Some people are really sketchy about online dating. I don't know the guy and care so little about all of this, but I'm just saying: if HE really believed she was real, I can imagine him exaggerating the relationship to avoid embarrassment, and I can REALLY imagine him being embarrassed when he found out it was all made up.
