i bet this is what happened to Obama when he took office the first time. he spoke to the Republican nuts "guys, lets sit down we'll talk. i'll listen to your arguments, you listen to mine and we'll come up with some compromise..."
...And then he realized that Republicans listen to NOTHING, no amount of facts, figures, graphs, statistics will convince them of anything because they are intellectually incapable of comprehending that facts and figures are even necessary to believe that they are right.
