there was this dude who did that, living off the internet and not leaving home, during the dot com boost.
I just leave a note on the door for the delivery guy so I don't need to interact with him.
spiritual people do that shit, living in the mountains for a year or two and only meditating and no human interaction
who's afraid of being alone? most people do I believe
a year is kinda easy with the internet and tv though
