Don't get me wrong, there most definitely is a problem with simply tossing drugs at mental health issues. But removing easy access to weapons capable of slaughtering people wholesale is the first and easiest step to take. Another common thread with everything you posted there was that the people who committed these acts had relatively easy access to the weapons they used. Would they have been able to do it if there were significant hurdles in place preventing them from acquiring these weapons?
