After owning my HTC EVO for almost 2 years now I can definitively say I will not be buying another HTC product. They pretty much completely dropped support and upgrades for the after only a year of owning it. If i want to update the firmware (android) then I have to root the device. The native HTC gui stuff is nothing special either... and has lacked a significant update in a long time.
Also, the device is starting to considerably show it's age. The actual materials have no held up that well to wear and tear: the glass is scratched, the outer shell is bulging and slightly mis-shaped to the point where the back no longer is 100% securely fastened to the device. The touch functionality is no longer completely reliable either.
So there are my two cents... i'll probably get an iPhone when my contract is up in January. From what i've seen support for iPhone's is far superior to other makes/models of smartphones. Just something to keep in mind when buying.
